Modern Fall Decor Trends for a 2020 Refresh
It’s officially fall. And since we are all spending so much time at home these days, you are probably getting tired of looking at the same scenery everyday. So, it’s the perfect time for a fall decor refresh. We’ve gathered some of our favorite modern trends for Autumn decor this year to help inspire you.
Muted Colors
You can expect to see the usual suspects - earthy tones, thicker fabrics, and pumpkins, to name a few. But when it comes to color, the typical trends are taking a slight shift. Of course browns and oranges will still be prominent, but in more muted shades.
Natural Materials
Sustainability is coming more to the forefront. Expect to see plenty of jute, hemp, organic cotton, and other more eco-friendly materials. Even the decorative pumpkins this year will be wrapped in raffia and corn husk rope.
Rattan continues to be big into the fall, not just for your patio, but inside the house as well. Bonus mention: cane and amber are making their comebacks this season.
Textured Fabrics
Switching out your fabrics is one of the easiest ways to change the look of your home without having to do anything major. Simply swapping out your rug or comforter for something with more earth tones can completely switch up the mood of your room.
Texture is always key for fabrics in the fall and winter seasons. Think velvet, chunky knit throws, bobble pillows, tassels and lots of layering.
Cozy Vibes
Your home may be serving double (or triple) duty these days with remote working and learning, but it should still be your sanctuary at the end of the day. This fall we’ll be seeing a lot of cozy reading nooks and soft spots to curl up with a cup of coffee or tea. Poufs, pillows and blankets required.
Dried Botanicals
It seems like overnight pampas grass took the fall decor spotlight. We anticipate you’ll see these reedy grasses in vases and centerpieces everywhere this season. You can also go for dried wheat, ruscus, or golden-hued flowers.
